JP
JP was born in Brooklyn into a family of
Yankee fans, so naturally he decided to subject himself to heartache and ridicule by becoming a fan
of the Mets. JP was one of the founding members of The Heartland Village Wiffle Ball
League, where he went went on to become the career home run leader—a record that still stands today. He also runs like a duck—though that might generally be
considered an insult to ducks everywhere—and was runner up for Mullet Of The Year in 1989.
JP has a deep understanding and love of fantasy sports, as he's been playing them
for the last 20 years—he has been a champion multiple times. His expertise is in baseball and football, though he's quite knowledgeable in all sports.
Talking about all of them comes as second nature to JP, and when that's mixed that with his comedic wit, he brings a style to sports talk that's utterly different
from anything you'll hear anywhere else. Finally, be warned: JP doesn't hide his opinions...and he's got a lot of them.
Destry
Destry spent the first 15 years of his life in
Columbus, Ohio, which made him a natural fan of
college football
in general, and the
Ohio State Buckeyes in particular. Being a kid growing up in the 70's, he was magnetically drawn to the powerhouse
Pittsburgh Steelers when it came to
NFL football; he's been a die-hard Steelers fan for decades.
Destry played baseball from the age of five through high school, and he spent 7 consecutive years on an undefeated team. He moved to
Port Charlotte, Florida, in 1986, and continued his baseball playing days at
Port Charlotte High School,
while also spending his formative summers as a bat boy for the
Texas Rangers. He considers himself a hometown person, having spent
the majority of his life in Port Charlotte, and that's taught him the value of local sports. He currently participates in bowling and dart leagues, enjoys
playing golf and basketball, and is a proud member of the
Northport Buckeyes Fan Club.
Destry's also very much into fantasy sports, and has played in multiple leagues for a large number of years. In fact, he remains
undefeated in fantasy baseball, and last year won a full 80% of the fantasy football leagues in which he competed.
Destry is quick-witted, sarcastic, intelligent,
and highly opinionated. Now, can you think of a better combination for a sports talk radio host?
